Is 20 seats the right size?
If you've got sixteen to twenty people and they plan to stand up and dance between stops, this is your bus.
It's the smallest cabin we run with a dance floor and a flat-screen, on top of the leather seating, cooler bar, LED lighting and subwoofer the smaller buses have. Seventeen or eighteen adults feels roomy. Twenty teenagers in formalwear on a prom run is fine.
A seated dinner night for seventeen? The 18-passenger party bus is enough. Already counting twenty-one or twenty-two? Go to the 22-passenger party bus.

This is where the dance floor starts. The 20 gives you an open pocket of floor and a flat-screen up front, on top of the leather seating, cooler bar and LED lighting the smaller buses carry.
Phoenix groups run it from Fashion Square into Old Town, around brewery loops on the Ale Trail, and downtown to Mortgage Matchup Center (formerly Footprint Center) before tip-off. The TV earns its keep on the way in.

What a night on the 20-passenger party bus is like
The doors shut, the flat-screen comes on, and the open floor becomes where everyone stands before the first stop. That is the whole difference between this bus and the two below it.
Between breweries it works as the tasting lounge: USB ports keeping phones alive for the group chat, tinted glass keeping the party to yourselves, subwoofer doing the rest.
Into Old Town, your chauffeur uses the loading zones on the side streets rather than stopping in traffic on Scottsdale Road. Expect a short walk on a busy Saturday and agree on the pickup corner first.
Fashion Square pickups are timed around the mall exit, not the mall doors. Small choices like that are most of what a local chauffeur adds on a Scottsdale night.

Why 20 is the prom number
The typical Phoenix prom group is about twenty riders. That isn't a coincidence of bus sizes; it's what happens when six or seven couples pick up a few friends who are going solo.
Parents want one vehicle, one chauffeur and one itinerary, which is why party buses carry most prom groups in the Valley. Twenty seats is the honest starting point.
It's only a starting point, though. About a third of prom groups end up bigger than twenty, so if two more couples are "probably in," price the 22 or 24 now instead of in April. Outside prom season the same size shows up for homecoming in the fall, graduation nights in May and friend groups who simply rounded up.

Sizing
Size up or size down?
Dropping to the 18-passenger party bus saves a little length and nothing you'd miss at dinner, but you give up the dance floor and the TV. That matters for prom and birthdays. It matters much less for a wedding party.
The 22-passenger party bus buys two seats in the same layout, which is the cheapest insurance there is against plus-ones.
If the photo in front of the vehicle matters more than dancing, the 20-passenger stretch limo seats the same headcount with red carpet service available and dual wet bars, though nobody's standing up inside it. With twenty people splitting one total, the per-head share here is among the lowest of the small buses, which is usually where the parents' group chat lands.
Keep the route inside the hours you reserve. A Scottsdale crawl works best with one boarding address and two or three stops, because the drive between them is short and the time inside them is not.
