The short answer

Is 26 seats the right size?

Twenty-two to twenty-six riders who need to make several stops in one day and stay together the whole time.

A multi-stop day lives or dies on how fast people get on and off, and that's what this layout is good at. Restroom and Wi-Fi on board, a microphone so the host can set up each stop before you arrive, reclining seats, overhead bins and power at every seat. No luggage bay and no screens at this size.

Twenty-three or twenty-four fits the 24-passenger coach bus. Twenty-seven or twenty-eight is the 28-passenger coach bus.

Amenities vary slightly by vehicle, so tell us your must-haves when you request a quote.

A look at the 26-Passenger Coach Bus

The hinge size: restroom and Wi-Fi, without the luggage bays and monitors that arrive at 30 seats.

Mesa nonprofit circuits with four addresses in a day, company outings finishing at Westgate, boutique conference shuttles under thirty guests.

Send your list of stops and roughly how long you'll be at each, and your driver will call each one over the PA. Westgate end times slip, so build in twenty minutes of slack.

The experience

What the trip is like on the 26-passenger shuttle-style coach bus

Your driver calls each stop over the PA, so a day with four addresses stays simple. Nobody has to ask which building comes next.

After a game or a show at Westgate, the coach waits a block or two clear of the crowd. That's a short walk instead of a long sit in traffic.

For a small conference, it runs back and forth between the hotel lobby and the venue all day, so nobody waits long for a ride.

The 26-Passenger Coach Bus sits between the compact coaches and the mid-size ones. You get the restroom and Wi-Fi for a day with several stops, without paying for the luggage bays and screens that start at 30 seats.

If your list is firm and the budget is tight, the 24 does the same job. If half the group is bringing bats, cases or roller bags, the 28 keeps the aisle clear.

Nonprofits use it for site visits across Mesa, companies take it out to Westgate, and small conferences run it between a hotel and the meeting.

Local numbers

Weekdays are the cheap seats

Almost everything we quote is for a Friday or Saturday — those two days take about four in every five requested dates. Which means a Wednesday donor tour or a Thursday site circuit is competing with almost nobody.

That shows up in the price, too. Saturday quotes have historically run around $300 higher than the same trip on a Friday or midweek. For a nonprofit or a public agency, that's a real line item.

This bus spends most of its year on stakeholder tours, service days and custom charters that take in five or six locations from south Phoenix out to Mesa. It's good on a public art or architecture tour too, where the microphone makes the drive part of the program.

Sizing

Size up or size down?

The 24-passenger coach bus is a shade shorter, which helps at small community sites with awkward lots. The 28-passenger coach bus adds two seats and nothing else.

The step that changes what you can do is the 30-passenger coach bus: flat-screen monitors and under-floor storage, useful if your tour includes a presentation or you're carrying supplies to each site.

For a staff party at the same headcount, the 26-passenger party bus has a wet bar in place of the recliners. On a multi-stop day the vehicle's length decides where you can actually stop — this one fits most school lots, clinic driveways and community-center loops, but not a curb in a dense grid like Garfield or Coronado. Walk your stops on a map first and flag the tight ones to us.

Local know-how

Phoenix tips for this vehicle

  • Bringing a lot of gear for spring training? Ask about the 28 before you put down a deposit.
  • Send your list of stops and roughly how long you'll be at each one. We'll tell you if the day fits the hours.
  • The Wi-Fi is fine for the person coordinating. It won't carry a video call from every seat.
  • Westgate end times slip. Give yourself twenty minutes.

Booking a coach this size

  • Email the stop list when you ask for a price.
  • For a company outing, tell us if the end time might run late.
  • Running a festival? Send us the gate map, not just the street address.
  • Not sure how much equipment is coming? Ask us to price the 26 and the 28 together.

Behind the wheel

Safety and your chauffeur

  • On a day with several stops, we write the plan down with you beforehand, so nobody's left standing at a curb wondering.
  • Your driver has the contact number for every hotel or venue on the list.
  • Bags come out of the aisle before any highway stretch.

26-Passenger Coach Bus FAQ

Straight answers on minimum hours, deposits, what is included, and what to bring.

Five or six on a full day, four on a half day. With twenty-six riders, every stop costs at least ten minutes in unloading and reloading before anyone's seen anything. Group them geographically — south Phoenix in the morning, Mesa after lunch — and send us the addresses so the chauffeur can sequence them around traffic.
Raise it when you ask for the quote. Tell us the organization's name, who signs off on the expense and whether you need a W-9 or a particular invoice format for grant reporting. Getting that sorted at the start saves a scramble later, especially when a board or finance committee has to approve the spend first.
Yes, and the air conditioning is half the reason. A crew of twenty-odd stays together between project sites and has somewhere cool to recover between outdoor shifts. Dirty boots and tools need a plan, though — bring tarps or bags, and check with us what's allowed in the cabin, because there's no bay underneath for muddy gear.
Introduce each site before you arrive, give the timing for the stop, take questions on the way to the next one, and thank people at the end. It turns dead driving time into program time. Ask speakers to stay seated while they talk. If you're bringing a guest narrator, mention it so the system's live from the first mile.
Often, but check the food rules in your written quote first. Boxed lunches without sauces or loose toppings are much the easiest. Bring trash bags and wipes and collect everything before the next stop. Plenty of tours find it better to eat at one of the sites where there are tables, and keep the bus time for the program.
For the people, yes. For the kit, only what fits in the bins, under seats and on spare seats — there's no luggage bay at this size. Crews with cases and stands should either pair it with a cargo vehicle or move up to a 30-passenger coach with storage underneath. Send us your call sheet so pickups line up with it.
Same as everything else: slowly. Coaches can use HOV lanes where they're permitted, which helps a little, but a tour crossing the Valley between 3:30 and 6:30 should budget half again as much time. The biggest saving is structural — build the day so your last stop is near the drop-off point rather than across town from it.
