Limo Sprinter or executive Sprinter: which one?

Pick a limo Sprinter if the ride is part of the fun, and an executive Sprinter if the ride is how you get somewhere.

Both come in 8, 10, 12 and 14 seats, both let you stand up inside, and both fit places a bus cannot. Twelve is one of the sizes we get asked for most, so the 12-passenger limo Sprinter is a sensible place to start for a celebration, and the 14-passenger executive Sprinter for a team travelling with bags.

For groups of ten or fewer, the Sprinter limo is the Valley default — more than half of everything we quote at that size. You get the headroom without paying for rows nobody sits in.

Most Valley groups are under fifteen people, and that whole range is Sprinter territory. The seat count rarely settles it.

What settles it is what everyone will be doing while the wheels are turning.

A night out? Limo Sprinter

The limo Sprinter turns everyone toward each other, with color-changing lights, Bluetooth sound and a cooler for whatever you bring aboard.

Eight friends flying in for a Scottsdale weekend fit the 8-passenger limo Sprinter. The typical bachelorette group is twelve, which wants the 12 or the 14-passenger limo Sprinter — the 14 adds a rear lounge and surround sound.

One thing worth knowing: Friday, not Saturday, is the top night for bachelor and bachelorette trips here. If your group has plans both nights, ask us about both.

Airports and clients? Executive Sprinter

The executive Sprinter is quiet and forward-facing, with armrests, a flat-screen, Wi-Fi and an outlet at every seat.

Wineries and day trips: either one

For a Verde Valley tasting day or a brewery loop closer to home, it comes down to mood rather than seats.

The limo Sprinter keeps the conversation going between stops. The executive Sprinter is far kinder on a two-hour highway stretch, when people want to face forward and nap on the way back. Our wine tour guide covers realistic pacing for both.

When should we move up to a bus?

At 11 to 15 riders it is close to a coin flip, so trust the group rather than the headcount. Both answers are defensible.

Stay in the Sprinter if you are at 14 or under and you value easy parking and a cozy cabin. Move to the 16-passenger party bus if you are at 14 with maybes outstanding, or the 20-passenger party bus if people want a dance floor.

Why a Sprinter is the easy one in Phoenix

Count bags like people

A Sprinter's seat count assumes people, not luggage. For an airport run, tell us how many checked bags and golf bags are coming. Two empty seats often solve it; sometimes the next size up does.

It goes where buses can't

Old Town alleys, Arcadia restaurant lots, Paradise Valley driveways, winery gravel roads — all of it is simpler in something van-length.

If your night includes a house pickup in a gated neighborhood, or a restaurant with valet only, a Sprinter saves you the walk from wherever a 30-foot bus would have had to stop.

Small groups book late. Spring still fills

Groups of ten or fewer usually call about three weeks ahead, and plenty call inside the final week. Through the summer that is rarely a problem.

February through May is a different story. Those four months hold close to half the year's requested dates, with the Phoenix Open, spring training and bachelorette season stacked on top of each other.

What does it usually cost?

Small-group trips here have historically quoted around $900, and a little over $1,200 once you are at 11 to 15 people. Split ten ways, that first number is about $90 each, gratuity included.

An executive Sprinter has forward-facing seats with armrests, Wi-Fi, an outlet at every seat and overhead bins, so it is built for airport runs and work travel.
Yes, in both kinds, and it is the biggest practical difference from a stretch limo. People walk to their seats instead of sliding along a bench. On a night with four or five stops that adds up fast, especially in heels or formalwear.
It depends how many seats are filled. At a full 14, plan on carry-ons and personal bags rather than a large checked bag each. For a full group with full-size luggage, tell us the bag count when you ask for the quote — we will often point you at a shuttle-style coach with proper storage instead.

Easily. It is a comfortable way to take 8 to 14 people up to Sedona, the Verde Valley wineries or Prescott for the day. Sedona is about two hours each way, so book the full day rather than the usual four hours, and leave early to get out ahead of weekend traffic on I-17.
Three weeks is typical, and small groups give us the least notice of anyone — about a quarter of everything we hear about arrives inside two weeks. Most of the time that works out fine. Spring weekends are the exception, so for March through May, ask earlier than feels necessary.
